Founded on the banks of a former canal that dates back centuries in buildings constructed during prohibition, Dayton Barrel Works Artisan Distillery taps into not only the history of our city, but also our souls to create unique and inviting spirits. Our focus on sourcing the highest quality raw materials whether it be grain, yeast, barrels, or botanicals allows us to craft inspired spirits to help tell the story of who we were, who we are, and who we will become.

Based In a city with such a rich history, it can be hard to begin the story of who we were.  You’ll notice that all of our brands and spirits state Settled 1796. Unfortunately our distillery doesn’t date back 200 plus years, rather that is an homage to when our story begins on this little patch of land we call home. From our beginnings in 1796, this city has been through quite a lot.  We’ve had giants of industry who have created inventions that have changed and inspired the world. We’ve seen fires, floods, and heartache. From playwrights to poets, gypsy queens to presidents, actors, bootleggers, brewers and musicians. This city has a history to share. It’s with that in mind that we reawaken the stories of our past, and forge the stories of our future.
